1. The rise of Micromax in the Indian mobile phone market is quite meteoric. Though the company was founded in 1991 but came into limelight from the year 2008 only when the company entered into mobile phone manufacturing business. Micromax is currently the 12th largest manufacturer of mobile phones with revenues of Rs 2285 crores.

2. In its early days company only targeted the DUAL SIM phone segment which itself was very small segment at that time but has the potential to grow big. The demand of dual sim phones was increasing in the market but at that time only CHINESE PHONES (which are of very inferior quality) have the dual sim feature as the none of the big brands such as Nokia, Samsung, Sony etc have launched dual sim phone and also not interested in manufacturing them.

Micromax identifies that there can be a huge opportunity in dual sim phones which are of good quality and low price tag as people are fed up from these stupid Chinese Phones which are nothing less than a piece of junk. Micromax in very short period of time launched the complete range of cheap dual sim phones with all the basic feature sufficient to satisfy the average Indian. Next Micromax targets the youth of the country by launching phones with qwerty keypads and in-built chatting apps which enables youngsters to chat with their friends easily these type of qwerty phones by Micromax are loaded with all the basic features including dual sim and soon become very popular among the college students. One thing is special about the Micromax phones that most of them are priced around Rs 5,000 which place in between the smartphones and feature phones.

5. Another point which stands out in the success of Micromax, is their CREATIVITY. From very starting Micromax marketed itself as a youth centric brand, which thinks differently. Micromax phones are good but their advertising campaigns are their highlight. Micromax television commercials are far more creative than other mobile phone manufactures even Nokia or Samsung commercials doesn't stand before Micromax commercials. Actually just because of these creative commercials only, Micromax is able to attract the customers and able to build their image.
